Challenge
Operationally-focused managers promoted into more senior positions lacked the key strategy skills and know-how required to develop, refine and communicate their own strategic plans – limiting their ability to excel in their new leadership roles. This was particularly apparent during the annual planning cycle where this skills gap led to a lack of clarity at more senior levels of the organisation.
Solution
Mandarin designed and developed an interactive [training] workshop that not only upskilled delegates in the core principles of good strategy development but enabled them to navigate this critical process [on their own in the following weeks], applying simple tools and frameworks, and pitch their strategic plans confidently and convincingly to senior stakeholders.
Results
Following a successful pilot, this strategy development workshop has become an ongoing, core part of the organisation’s development programme. More recently. The format has been been adapted for online, remote delivery to 100+ people . o Mandarin [have since designed and delivered development workshops across a broad range of topics and] are now the trusted partner for strategy and human performance related learning and development.
